Free Miniature Painting Tools
Four free tools for hobby paints: match a paint, match a color from a photo, build a scheme, and calculate a mix. No signup, no install, all in your browser. The Tamiya, Humbrol and Revell paint charts are linked below as reference.

Paint matcher
Convert any paint, or match a hex or RGB code
The main free tool. Pick any hobby paint and see its closest equivalents in every other brand, or switch to color-code mode and paste a hex value or RGB triplet to find the nearest paints to that exact color. Every match shows the color score and the finish type, so you know whether it is a true swap. No signup, and it runs in your browser.

Photo color matcher
Find the paint for any color in a photo
Drop in a photo of a painted model, a reference picture, or a screenshot, then tap the color you want. The tool samples that spot and ranks the closest hobby paints across every brand. It all happens on your device, so the image is never uploaded. A free browser tool for matching a color you can see but cannot name.
Match from a photo
Color scheme builder
Pick a color, get a palette that goes together
A free color scheme generator for miniature painters. Choose a paint and the tool builds a full scheme around it: complement and triad partners for contrast, analogous neighbors for shading, a neutral anchor, and a highlight and shade ladder. Useful for planning a Warhammer army scheme or any model palette, with real swatches and the finish class kept honest.
Build a scheme
Paint mixing calculator
Preview a two-paint mix before you open the pots
A free paint mixing calculator that predicts the color of two paints mixed at a ratio you choose, shown as a real swatch with its hex value. It also lists the closest single pots across every brand, in case one already matches and saves you the mixing. The mix is a color-space estimate, an honest starting point rather than a lab result, and it works in the browser.

Not tools, but handy reference pages. Each chart lists a full brand range as accurate swatches with hex values and paint types, and every color opens to its conversions in the other brands.

All free, all in the browser
Every tool here is free to use with no account and nothing to install. They run as web apps in your browser, so you can open one on a phone at the painting desk with a model in the other hand. The paint matcher and photo matcher do their color math on your device, while the scheme builder and mixing calculator compute from measured swatch colors. The brand charts above are plain reference pages. If you know the paint, start with the matcher; if you only have a color or a photo, start there instead.
