91 opaque colors with a muted, industrial character all their own.

The Formula P3 range
Formula P3 is the opaque core of Privateer Press's paint line, 91 colors originally built for the Warmachine and Hordes miniature games. That heritage defines the palette: it leans muted and dark, sitting below the midpoint in average lightness, with a big block of browns and yellows and a notable run of deep near-blacks. This is not a bright heroic-fantasy range; it was mixed for grim, industrial, steam-and-magic schemes.
The character is exactly why P3 keeps a loyal following. Colors like Cryx Green and Cygnar Blue were formulated for specific factions and carry a moodier, more desaturated feel than the defaults of the bigger brands. If that dark, weathered look is what you are after, P3 gives it to you straight rather than making you mix your way there.
The important limit is scope. Formula P3 is opaque paint only, with no washes, contrast, or technical paints anywhere in the line; its metallics live in a separate small range. So a P3 painter almost always pairs it with shades from another brand for the recess work, which is worth planning for before you buy in.
