Inside Warpaints Fanatic
Warpaints Fanatic is the core of Army Painter's lineup, 216 opaque colors and the biggest single fantasy-oriented range here. It replaced the older Warpaints line with a wider, more systematically organized palette, and the spread shows that intent: strong runs of blues and greens, a large brown and earth block for terrain and leather, and a deep set of greys for armor, all balanced rather than piled into one corner.
The range is built around triads and matching washes, so colors are designed to be used in families, a base, a midtone, and a highlight that belong together, which takes some of the guessing out of building a smooth scheme. The dropper bottles hold a generous amount of paint and suit both brush and palette work.
What Warpaints Fanatic does not include is the one-coat shading that lives in the separate Speedpaint range. Treat Fanatic as the opaque, do-it-properly half of Army Painter's system: the colors you base and layer with, paired with Speedpaint or washes when you want shading to happen faster.
