Pro Acryl is a curated set, not a sprawling one. Because all 174 of its colors map onto a Vallejo equivalent while only 295 of Vallejo's map back, Pro Acryl effectively sits inside Vallejo's color space as a tighter, more deliberate selection. That is the appeal: less choosing, high opacity, and generous dropper bottles.

It is also the darkest-leaning range in this whole catalog. Its average color sits well below the midpoint in lightness, with 39 near-black and very dark colors, so it is strong for undercoats, deep basecoats, and the muted palettes a lot of painters actually gravitate toward. It is not purely opaque either: it folds in a run of wash colors and a set of metallics, so a simple scheme can start and finish inside the range.

Vallejo earns its place on breadth. 334 colors across Model Color and Game Color give you far more edge cases, brighter fantasy tones, and historical earths than a single 174-color range can hold.
